PERSONAL INJURY

Personal injury claims stem from a person's unreasonable or negligent action that results in another person's injury. This field of law, also referred to as tort law, has many specific areas, which include: automobile accidents, medical malpractice, pedestrian accidents, biking accidents, trucking accidents, boating accidents, slip and fall incidents, and products liability claims, to name a few.

Some people are reticent to pursue claims on account of their injuries as they do not wish to "sue someone" for their role in causing one's injuries.  However, these people frequently do not realize that personal injury claimants do not tend to pursue the negligent person in their individual capacity.  Instead, we pursue the negligent party's applicable insurance coverage.  Insurance is purchased in light of the risks that we face in everyday life.  Automobile insurance is mandatory in the State of Washington, and those who provide services to people generally are required to have some form of malpractice insurance.

People are not perfect and make mistakes.  In fact, it is rare to find a driver of a vehicle who purposely meant to rear-end another vehicle, or a product manufacturer who intended to produce a defective product.  However, if a person's mistake or negligence, regardless of their intent, results in another's injury, the tortfeasor or negligent party is responsible for the harm or injuries they caused.  It would not be fair or equitable to hold an injured party responsible for their injuries, which were caused by another's mistake.  To this end, our laws were designed to compensate and provide justice to individuals for the injuries, pain, and suffering they endured, which were caused by the negligence of another.

If you or a family member has been injured, you should strongly consider speaking with a personal injury attorney. We do not charge for consultations and are happy to answer any questions you may have.
